Industrial Design

Design that balances human experience, functional performance, and technical feasibility

Capabilities-Industrial-Design

Hydrix delivers industrial design that unites aesthetics, usability, and engineering precision to create products that perform reliably in demanding environments. Our work spans surgical tools, field-deployable devices, advanced diagnostic systems, and ruggedised industrial platforms. We specialise in regulated sectors where great design is more than visual appeal. It is a critical enabler of safety, performance, and adoption.

Our industrial designers work side by side with engineers, human factors specialists, and clients to ensure that every product form reflects its functional intent. We help bring technologies to life in ways that are intuitive to use, practical to manufacture, and aligned with stakeholder needs from first impression to final use.

Industrial Design Capabilities

  • Human-centred design research
We investigate user behaviours, pain points, and environmental conditions across clinical, industrial, and defence settings. Field studies, contextual interviews, and workflow observations guide the development of form factors that align with real-world constraints.
  • Concept generation and industrial styling
From initial sketches through to high-fidelity CAD, we explore multiple directions to define a product’s identity and usability. Our process includes ergonomic evaluation, spatial layout, and physical-digital interface integration to support safe, confident operation.
  • Mechanical and enclosure integration
Our industrial designers work closely with mechanical and electronics teams to ensure fit, material performance, and durability under operating conditions. Enclosures are developed for drop resistance, ingress protection, heat dissipation, and ease of assembly.
  • Visual design language and stakeholder communication
We shape cohesive product families and align visual language with brand positioning. Our tools include visual mock-ups, photorealistic renders, and physical models to support communication across development, marketing, and investor audiences.
  • Design for manufacturability and regulatory compliance
We ensure industrial design supports tooling, assembly, and scale-up from early-stage prototyping through to mass production. Our team considers materials, finish options, tolerances, and process selection in parallel with design controls, usability engineering, and documentation requirements.
  • Rapid prototyping and iterative testing
In-house prototyping capabilities allow for fast turnaround of looks-like and works-like models. We use these prototypes to validate ergonomics, form factor, user access, and maintenance interactions. These physical assets are also used to gather early stakeholder input and support commercial engagement.
