Scandinavian RealHeart (SRH), a Swedish medtech company, is redefining the future of mechanical circulatory support with its groundbreaking Total Artificial Heart (TAH). Inspired by the human heart’s natural function, the RealHeart TAH is the first to replicate a four-chamber design with two reciprocating pistons that mimic the pumping action of a natural heart. This unique approach produces physiological pulsatile blood flow, reducing blood-related complications and significantly improving patient outcomes.

The RealHeart pump solution has been successfully validated through a series of acute and chronic animal trials. To advance into First-In-Human (FIH) trials, the TAH controller must evolve to include clinical-grade features and performance capabilities. Hydrix is assisting RealHeart to develop the Implantable Controller, External Controller, and Clinical Application, ensuring safety, reliability, and seamless integration.

The RealHeart TAH has garnered significant interest from the medical community, with strong results in preclinical trials and virtual implantation models. Hydrix’s contributions is ensuring the RealHeart TAH is ready for the next phase of clinical evaluation, bringing life-changing technology closer to patients with end-stage heart failure.
