SEMMA WEBINAR - Necessity is the mother of
… manufacturing
You will have heard the phrase “necessity is the mother of invention” – this is very true of Australian manufacturing, now more than ever.
The Australian manufacturing industry is exceptional for its adaptable and responsive capabilities. In order to succeed, it innovates and responds to new technology development, market insights and distribution imperatives.
In this webinar, we follow the journey of how a tech start-up evolved from a manufacturer’s insight. How spotting a need in the market and identifying the potential of navigation technology used in the aviation industry led to the creation of a disruptive medical device company.
We explored the manufacturing development journey in terms of:
- Market insights – how to establish if there is there value in your idea.
- Protecting the idea – what are your intellectual property rights and obligations?
- Funding the idea – how can you offset R&D costs?
- Commercialising the idea – how to take a great technology to market.
